Just the thumb Wes would be proud
That's the highest praise imaginable, thank you! I hope Wes would feel the love and respect ❤🎸
Jazz has always come from a different planet, so to speak. ❤❤❤
The masters of this music were indeed travelers and explorers of the highest order!
Luke Skywalker plays guitar ?
😂That's a first!
Sorry man. I couldn't resist. Cool cords none the less.
@@brianfoster4493 haha I love it! 💫
What is the “i” in your chords? And when I plug your chords into a chord finder that’s not what it’s giving me back; for example your “Dmi7” comes up as an F6 chord on the chord find I use.
Great question Marcus! The same chord shape can be named as different chords depending on context. In this case, the exact same four notes can be different chords. If you put the notes in order, Dmi7 is D F A C. F6 is F A C D. Notice they are the same four notes!
In the video, you see lots of variations of ii-V. The first one is Dmi7 to G7. Dmi7 is ii. G7 is V. Cmaj7 would be the I chord, but this progression is ii-V and not ii-V-I
@@timfitzgeraldmusic Interesting. I’ve noticed even chord finders don’t aways agree with each other. Thanks for your reply.
So sweet
🙌🙌
Yeah! Sounds very good!
Great lines man. Love the articulation!
Great Tim!
Thanks Nelson! 🙌
Excellent! Love it❤
Thank you Adrian! 🙌
Also, "WesM65?" Spot on! ❤️
@@timfitzgeraldmusic I was obsessed with the Jazz 625 show (that you transcribed, of course) when I joined UA-cam. I still absolutely love that show, of course, and everything Wes ever recorded, basically. He's overall my favourite jazz musician, even though I'm a sax player. I learned Movin' Along on tenor recently, actually- a great solo to play!
@@wesm65 I love to hear how connected you are to Wes as a saxist. I've thought for a long time Wes' genius transcends any individual instrument. What a gift he gave the world. Very cool about movin' along - I need to dive in to that one
Ça joue monstre
Merci beaucoup! 🙌
Wow, that's beautiful.
Much appreciated Kurt! 🙌🙌
Nice lines!
Thank you! 🙌
Beautiful flow Tim!
Beautiful my dad used to listen to both of them. I still watch videos of Sammy Davis Junior. He’s my favorite artist. I think he’s the best talent that ever lived in my opinion. Loved your guitar accompaniment 👌👏❤️
That guy isnt playing what is being heard.. 😂
those were the days people knew how to dress up for jazz nigt and jazzmen wear ties ....I wish to see Wes playing with Joe Pass together..
❤
His playing sticks out like a sore thumb, especially when I attempt it with arthritis.
You can't beat that
Very nice
Cool !! ⚡🎶🎸🥁🎹🎺🎵⚡
That is the stuff. Make another video without the comments over the fretboard. Find work..
Fine Work !
Cool!! Born and raised at Roosevelt and Pulaski; trips to Oak Park was like going to Disneyland!
Here’s Wes but first a 3 hour speech from Humphrey
Sweeeet!
How do you explore harmony?
Sounds beautiful
Whenever Wes smiled, the whole world smiled with Wes
Yes WES smiles when he plays - a lot of guitar players do not - !
Simply amazing ! Timeless !
*promo sm* 🤗
good.. also I'm play guitar to use thumpick. thank to help
Before the first note, that guitar screamed Jazz.
Ha! I love it, Bill! 🎸
That west coast blues outro lines he plays... I wish they would last forever
This reminds me of ratatouille and i love it
Nice wessy sound!
That's high praise thank you! 🙌
CLLEEEAANN!! Keep up the good work!
Appreciate it!! 🙌
You know I think that Wes never left the post office even though he was gigging all the time
From Wes. Caribe. Dope brother!!
Yes Wes!! 🙌🙌
In order of appearance in over the many years / decades the real guitar ground shakers were Lonnie Johnson - Eddie Lang - Django Reinhardt - Eddie Durham - Teddy Bunn - Charlie Christian - Tal Farlow - Barney Kessel - Wes Montgomery - and that really is where it has stayed and influenced the jazz guitar world - If I left out somebody I just felt that these were the guys that raised the bar to new ground !
BEST BEST BEST
From Caribe. Cool brother!! 🔥
Thank you!
I listened to this song so much through my life. One of the greatest solos ever! I learned Johnny Griffins solo too. What an amazing guitar solo and just the feel.
I need a guitarist like you to jam with lol. As a drummer it’s so hard to find people to play with
Wes was wise and a genius at playing the guitar ❤he made it look so natural he was my favorite ❤
Look at all those folks in the audience truly enjoying the genius that Wes was! Those were the times.
That sounds expensive
Oh the 175 is gorgeous, and your playing clean, controlled, nice.
175.
To watch Wes play, it almost seems as though he moves his entire hand for each individual note. A lot like Django, of course Django only had two fingers to work with, which forced him to move his entire hand to make certain notes.
